I made these meatballs as a trial run for an upcoming event. I was very pleased with how they came out. The meatballs themselves were very moist, and the sauce had a garlicky sweet flavor. The garlic is a little strong, but we love garlic so it was fine with us! I would highly recommend these next time you are looking for a warm, savory appetizer.

Ginger Honey Garlic Meatballs
- 1 eggs
- 1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons milk
- 1/2 cup dry bread crumbs
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 pound ground beef
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 3/4 cup ketchup
- 1/2 cup honey
- 3 tablespoons terriyaki sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. In a large bowl, combine egg and milk. Add the bread crumbs, onion, salt and pepper. Crumble beef over mixture and mix well. Shape into 1-inch balls. Place in to a greased 9×13 inch baking dish. Bake, uncovered, for 12-15 minutes or until meat is no longer pink.
Meanwhile, in a large saucepan, over medium-low heat, saute garlic in butter until fragrant and tender. Stir in the ketchup, honey, terriyaki sauce and ground ginger. Increase heat to high and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes. Drain meatballs and add to sauce. Carefully stir evenly to coat and simmer for 10-15 minutes.
